Jiwambe

Consumer financing platform for e-motorbikes and e-bicycles across East Africa, delivered through a fleet program.

Brand inconsistency, scattered file management, and no systematic design approach were blocking multi-market expansion. Established the design function from the ground up (design system, file architecture, cross-functional processes) and currently designing the customer-facing product surface, in active build.

Problem

  • design team operating tactically (task completion) without strategic foundation

  • each update introduced new inconsistencies, no systematic approach

  • file structure chaos prevented efficient collaboration and handoff

  • marketing brand execution diverged from core product standards

  • planned expansion to multiple countries would amplify existing issues

Approach

  • audited existing design ecosystem across product, website, and marketing

  • established unified design system connecting brand identity to implementation

  • created scalable Figma architecture with clear file organization

  • redesigned website with component-based logic and information architecture

  • created design-to-development handoff protocols and documentation

Impact

User

  • clearer fleet financing vs. direct purchase distinction in interface

  • streamlined loan applications, eliminated redundant phone validation step

In-house

  • consistent implementation patterns reduced design-dev rework cycles

  • centralized ecosystem map replaced tribal knowledge and ad-hoc decisions

  • enabled faster iteration on new market requirements

Files

  • Entringo Traffic

Ran a full UX/UI audit, built the design system from scratch, and redesigned core user flowsβ€”reducing task complexity and unblocking development cycles.

    Case study

  • Polar Explorer

Streamlined to 14 steps (~40% reduction) and improved information hierarchy β€” aimed at reducing repetitive support load.
